The Primal Therapist

“The therapeutic community of a large city was shocked when one of its members, a leading practitioner of primal therapy, died suddenly of a stroke at the age of 37.” p. 194

“For over fourteen years this therapist had practiced primal therapy, averaging about thirty-five hours a week, with time off during summers and Christmas. He saw each patient for two-hour sessions, and for most of these sessions the patient was encouraged to cry or scream out long-repressed infantile feelings.” p. 194

[Note the stories in this book are recommended simply for the facts in them, rather than the analysis of them. Be aware that Schoenewolf's analysis as to why these things happened tends to be from the psychanalytical branch of thought, including catharsis theory. ]
